...Pantone 2017 color of the year "Greenery"...
Wanting to expand my "photography on white" style, I wandered into Pantone's website for color inspiration and was delighted to see that the 2017 color of the year is called Greenery. I may be a little late to the announcement but much has been written about the reasons behind the color choice and Pantone's website summarizes it beautifully...
A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.
Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.
Greenery is nature’s neutral. The more submerged people are in modern life, the greater their innate craving to immerse themselves in the physical beauty and inherent unity of the natural world. This shift is reflected by the proliferation of all things expressive of Greenery in daily lives through urban planning, architecture, lifestyle and design choices globally. A constant on the periphery, Greenery is now being pulled to the forefront - it is an omnipresent hue around the world.
A life-affirming shade, Greenery is also emblematic of the pursuit of personal passions and vitality.
How perfectly wonderful and fitting is that ?!!!!?
If you have not taken time to explore the Pantone site, please do. It is color heaven!
Lately, I have been focusing on gathering thoughts for a theme when planning a photo shoot. I find that when I identify a very broad idea, randomly pick several props, and narrow down a photography skill area to become more proficient with, it all comes together. I find myself and my photography moving in a direction that feels natural and exciting all at the same time.
So without further adieu, here are the results of my "Greenery" shoot ...
My version of "greenery" in photographs as art that I would like in my home. Perhaps you too may identify or are captured by one of these images that would look perfect in your home?...An artful image that made you pause and look deeper? An image that made you want to look again and again? Images that were artfully unique and "fit" beautifully into any color scheme or room decor?
Simple, crisp, and clean shades of "Greenery"....
