Cherries on the 4th of July

It all started with a little Atlas Mason jar.....

...and Washington cherries for the 4th of July...

Cherries dropped in the jar and scattered about....

I fell in love with the rustic and imperfect shapes.  Just as if freshly picked from the cherry tree...

Even on their own....such a patriotic presence...

Rearranging my created light and deepening the backgrounds with vintage baking sheets and stone...

Plopping them into an old bread pan as I LOVE the seams on this well used kitchen tool....

Must not forget cherries in the old silver spoon.  The aged patina works nicely with the red fruits...

I simply cannot resist sneaking a couple from the scene and snacking during the shoot...

All spread out in the perfectly worn enamel plate...

Getting their attention low and up close.....

The fresh farmhouse authenticity of cherries...

I still love the look of the simple freezer paper background.  It reminds me of a loosely plastered wall in an old french kitchen...

Un-styled and un-posed....their moment on a marble stage...

All created from the inspiration of my little Atlas Mason jar....perfect just on its own....

Light some sparklers, pour the lemonade, and munch on a fistful of cherries.

Wishing all friends and family a fun-filled and safe 4th of July!
