Zinc Chairs and Peppermint Sticks
The zinc chairs are ready for their debut!
You may recall I mentioned my experiment with a
on a couple of old dining room chairs and now I am excited to share the outcome.
Here is a close-up of the arm to get a better look at the "zinc"
Rather than use plain upholstery material, I chose to cover them in white burlap. The burlap maintains the rustic look and keeps them simple and utilitarian.
As I was finishing them, I decided to only cover the back of the arm-less chair and left the edges unfinished and added simple jute cord as a trim. I am hoping as time goes on, the edges on the back fray a bit more to have more of that deconstructed/worn look.
Adding an old shutter door, wool socks, Ovenex bread pans, Ironstone soap dish, candle, and, peppermint sticks completed the props list and setting
All of these photos were taken in the my larger studio with a simple backdrop, concrete floor, and of course, primitive light (my version of "natural light"). The whole experience of creating the scene was so much fun as it evolved beyond my expectations. I must have swapped out a 100 different props and ideas before settling and snapping away.
I also created some additional images using a gorgeous large store scale I have along with some other fun surprises....I will be anxious to show them to you very soon!
Hoping you are enjoying a wonderful weekend and as always, I look forward to your thoughts, comments, and suggestions.
